What is a scheduled finish date?

In MS project, what do they mean by a scheduled finish date? Is it the finish date of a task, or the finish date of the whole project?

Can the scheduled finish date be altered (because of change requests) once its set?

The scheduled finish date may apply to any task, tasks, or the project overall.  The scheduled finish date is derived by MS project from the duration, resources, start date, working calendars, dependencies, and other constraints and predecessor dates.

MS Project does not fully support PM best practices, so you can alter the scheduled finish date due to change requests.  To employ best practices, re-baselining of projects needs to be limited to certain circumstances and it is best to track changes separately from the project baseline.
