When does pmi notify of a PMP application audit?

When does PMI notify the PMP applicant that his application will be audited? Is it within a month after applying? Is it a bad sign when there is no news on my application even after a month of applying.

Additionally, can the PMI audit you even after you take the exam?

To answer your second question, yes PMI can easily audit you even after you take the exam. Now as for the first question, a month delay between your application and the approval is unusual but not very worrisome. In any case, if you are selected for an audit, you should receive an email from PMI that they are going to audit you. They will ask you for documentation and you have 90 days to provide them with what they need. If you fail the audit they will refund you the money (minus a processing fee), if you don't provide them with the documentation they need in 3 months time, you will forfeit any refund.
