Education for IT project management

I am in community college exploring careers and was thinking about IT project management so i had a few questions to ask about the occupation.

Will i only need one degree in computer science or or in a related field
(most likely bachelors. ) or will i need like a degree in something else and computer science for example. I have a bachelors degree in computer science and a bachelors in communication. or will i need just one?

(second question)

How long after graduation will it take to get a job as a IT project manager and what are good jobs to build experience and how much experience is enough?

(third question)

Do IT project managers travel and if they do how often?

someone please answer, thank you.

A degree in computer science or any other bachelor's degree is more than enough for you to be an IT Project Manager. However, keep in mind that one can never be hired into a Project Manager position fresh out of school (see the career path in IT project management: http://www.projectmanagementquestions.com/6878/it-project-manager-career-path )

As for the second question, it'll take about 5 - 7 years for you to become an IT Project Manager after graduation.

As for your third question, traveling depends on the size and the type of the business. In dynamic companies, regardless of the size, project managers travel often.
