How many people fail the PMP every year?

Unfortunately, I am one of those not very brilliant project managers (as per PMI standards), who failed on the PMP exam. I want to know how many people are like me, how many people fail the PMP exam every year? Is it a high number, or do most people pass this exam?

PMI doesn't publish this number, but extrapolating from different references (mainly web references), I'd say the PMP failure rate is between 20% to 30%. This means that the majority pass the exam. Again, this is not an accurate number and might be far off from the reality, but since PMI does not publish the numbers, that's all I can give you.
