What is the cost of a project management certification?

How much does a project management certification cost? I know that there are several PM certifications so please give me the cost of...

- The most important PM certification
- The cheapest PM certification

Do companies actually care about which project management certification the candidate has, or do they just want to the candidate to have any PM certification?

The most important certification is the PMP, and it costs $555 if you're not a PMI member, and $405 if you're a PMI member (you can check the costs of all the PMI certifications here: http://www.projectmanagementquestions.com/1647/what-are-the-different-credentials-offered-by-pmi )

I don't know which one is the cheapest PM certification, and to be honest, I don't think you should care. Just go with the PMP, and you won't be wrong.

Yes, companies care about which project management certification the candidate has, and in North America all of them prefer the PMP, while in the UK companies prefer the PRINCE2.
