I read that to maintain the PMP certification I have to gather 60 PDU credits every 3 years. What is a PDU credit? And how and where to get it from? Can PDU credits be bought?

A PDU or Professional Development Unit is awarded such that one hour of activity is equal to one PDU.  The types of activities are divided into categories and may consist of things such as attending a class, self study, presentation of a paper, or teaching a project management class.  The complete definition of the PDU categories and their limitations, if any, can be found in each PMI credential handbook.  The handbook for the PMP exam may currently be found at: http://www.pmi.org/PDF/pdc_pmphandbook.pdf.
