What is the difference between conflict management and conflict resolution?

I just argued this morning with a colleague about the two terms, he's insisting that conflict management and conflict resolution are not the same thing, while not explaining how, while I'm saying that they are not different. Am I right?

What are the differences between the two (in case I'm wrong)?

The words management and resolution make these two different concepts.  Conflict management is the long term method by which we manage conflicts, such as interpersonal conflict, grievances, and disputes.  Conflict management may include creation of policies and procedures to handle conflict. Conflict resolution refers to how the conflict or dispute is resolved.
