I failed the pmp exam so what should i study to pass it?

This is a frustrating experience. I have failed an exam for the first time in my life, and it was the PMP exam. In this very competitive market, I need this certification to "stand our from the masses". I am very scared of trying the exam again and then fail for the second time. What should I do and study now to pass this scary exam?

I just failed the pmp exam today. I'm really bummed about it. I studied for countless hours and took an exam prep class. I also took simulated practice exam tests. I passed the practice questions with flying colors. I thought I was more than prepared for the real exam. WRONG! I need to know how to study to pass the exam as well.

Can you tell us how much you scored on each of the knowledge areas? And what exactly did you study to prepare for your PMP? How long have you been a project manager for?
Have you studied Rita's book?

Anonymous and Forensics Girl, would you please tell the public what exactly you studied? Also were you below proficient in all knowledge areas? Can you please let us know your proficiency level according to the test in each knowledge area?
Another question for Forensics Girl, the exam prep class that you took, was it online or offline?
As for the studying, maybe this previous question would help:

I would like to know as well. I just failed the exam--took the exam prep class which now seems a joke. Nothing from the class was on the exam.

I just passed my PMP exam and to be honest, the best way to pass is to not following any books per se, but to draw the maximum out of your experience. Sample exams do prepare you mentally and give you enough confidence that you can finish the test in allocated time but in my opinion most of the questions have near right answers and in the end your experience helps you to chose the best.
